Skyward Sword / Breath of the Wild: Master Sword and Hylian Shield
Here is the newest version of the Master Sword and Hylian shield from the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild. Both games seemed to have used the same designs with almost no differences aside from very slight touches possibly due to game limitations being higher in BotW.
This set took about 4 months to make the first copy seen here. The sword and shield are comparative in size with the Twilight Princess set. The Master Sword measures about 42” (107cm) long, and weighs about 3 lbs (1.4 kg). The inside of the sheath is lined with smooth suede-like fabric and soft foam to hold the blade firmly in place and prevent scratching while sheathing the blade. The sword is made of resin, with two non-exposed aluminum rods sealed inside to give a rigid structural support, making it safe for most conventions. The paint is automotive paint for a chrome reflection, and a new type of soft touch paint that gives a leathery grip feel to the blue of the sheath. Overall, it’s great for wall mounting, swinging around, or carrying as a cosplay prop. (note: the sword is missing the leather handle wrappings in the outdoor photos because it didn't arrived in the mail prior to taking them. The updated pictures with the wrappings are further down the page and are included with every sword.)
The shield is similar to Twilight Princess as well, measuring about 20” x 25” (51cm x 64cm) and weighing about 5 lbs (2.3 kg). The back has a flexible leather arm strap, and the handle is mounted for a left handed shield as Link is a right handed sword wielder in Skyward and Breath. However, the shield is made ambidextrous so that you can unscrew the handle and reverse it if you would like it to be a right handed shield at a later point in your inventory.
Now that the first prototype is finished, each copy should take about a month to make, and should look as nice as the ones you see here.
